No limit multi table poker tournaments are becoming increasingly popular at online poker rooms and if you want to advance in your poker skills then you really should try them. This is the format of satellites and qualifiers that will give you entry into bigger events with little risk and expense as they have low buy ins. A multi table tournament may have up to 5000 players but can be as few as 11. The objective is to winning all the chips from other players sitting around the table. The first thing to know is that it can be very time consuming when playing in a multi table qualifier, perhaps even a minimum of 4 hours, so you need to make sure that you have sufficient time set aside. Of course if you make it to the final tables, this time will be longer. You will need to play aggressively to win and take risks to build your stack of chips which will give you more freedom later on and also some protection against bad beats. If you are a novice poker player you should also practice at the single table tournaments before you are ready to move onto MTTs. Unfortunately a certain degree of luck (in addition to skill) is also required in multi table tournaments to get you to the final table.
