Titan Poker is gearing up for fantastic jackpot giveaways to the tune of $2,000. It’s called the Dirty Dozen Jackpot Tournament and Poker Room SG got the low-down on this rollicking contest. Join the fun as we explore more ways to win with Titan Poker.

I’m always up for a challenge, even a very stiff one. At TitanPoker that’s precisely what they’ve got in store for online poker fans. It’s called the Dirty Dozen Jackpot Tournament and it’s all the rage. As with all other tourneys that I love to play, this one is a Sit ‘n Go. Now for the good news: there’s $2k up for grabs for players from the Philippines. And poker stars who win 4 of these tournaments in a row will also win another $2k. Now that’s a something to take note of.

The contest takes place at 2 tables with 12 players. The buy-in is $2 +$0.40. The game kicks into high gear when all 12 seats are taken. As a poker aficionado, I have to say that this is a quality gaming option. It’s Texas Hold’em at its best. Join the fun; it’s cost-effective entertainment for a really big payday. This is what we call maximum leverage poker playing

The Money Night Football promotion currently being showcased at DoylesRoom provides poker players with plenty of exciting punting options. All it takes is some poker smarts and a ‘football friendly’ screen name to get the ball rolling. If you’re wondering where 10-time WSOP champion Doyle Brunson pulled his latest ace from, you’re clearly already at DoylesRoom. I’m a big fan of DR and I was pleasantly surprised to find this latest poker promotion in full flight at the poker champs site.

Money Night Football

As the name suggests, this football-style promotion is kicking off to rapturous applause. It’s the fusion of online poker and the NFL. And getting started is a cinch. Players need only make minor changes to their existing screen name (to promote their favorite NFL team or player) or register a new account with an NFL/player name included.

How this exciting promotion works?

Poker players will be thrilled to know that between 13th September and the 4th October 2010, they’ll be in the hunt for big cash prizes and exciting poker-football gaming. Doyles Room will be hosting two $10+1 Money Night Football events. They are scheduled to take place on Mondays at 18h00 Eastern Time. Once you’ve changed your name to reflect an NFL team or a football player, then you stand a chance of a rollicking real-money finish. The $500 Kamikaze contest is scheduled for the following Wednesday at 15h45 Eastern Time. I’m pretty excited to pit my skills against poker’s finest and the Money Night Football contest appears to be the ideal platform to do it.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) just announced that it is adding a new All Star game to its line up of events this year which begins on 27th June. The Tournament of Champions event has been ditched (or perhaps just transformed?). This was the event that featured 20 past WSOP Main Event winners all competing in a televised tournament for a vintage car. The winner of this new event (officially named the $1m WSOP Tournament of Champions Freeroll) will now walk home with a cool half a million dollars in this pocket. The new All Star Game will include 27 players and also be broadcast of course. At least five entries to the event are guaranteed and awarded to the three previous WSOP Tournament of Champions winners and the current WSOP and WSOP Europe Main Event champions. Apparently the remaining 20 seats will be allocated to players according to a fan vote and voting has already opened. Contenders are any player who is a WSOP bracelet holder. So unfortunately this policy rules out some very popular poker players as they may not necessarily have won a WSOP bracelet in the past.

Apparently these things don’t just happen in the movies. Today a German poker tournament being held in the Hyatt Hotel in Berlin was interrupted by four to six armed robbers wielding not only guns and machetes but also grenades (although the reports on this are a little sketchy at the moment still). The whole incident was caught on camera and has already been posted on You Tube. In fact the first moments of the holdup were still being streamed live to air but the footage was cut as people started running. Apparently the men demanded money and terrorized the tournament spectators. You can clearly see any would possibly could making a quick dash for the exits. According to the reports they made off with maybe as much as $1.1 million. The scheduled events continued on as planned after the holdup and tomorrow is the last day of the 5 day event.

With a second casino to follow later in the year, Singapore is being touted as the next Asian poker hot bed. Singapore is hoping to lure away the high rollers from gambling hub Macau and attract more wealthy visitors to boost it revenue which was severely hit by the global financial downturn. Local residents, however, incur a steep $70 admission fee. Apparently this is a part of the government’s strategy to discourage the local public to gamble and warn of the danger of addiction.

Today is the final day of the three-day Poker King Club’s Asian Poker King Tournament in the Star World Hotel in Macau. With a guaranteed prize pool of HKD$750,000 the tourney generated a lot of interest and excitement and I for one watched the event with interest. Even though this is the first inaugural event for the club, by all reports it exceeded many expectations. Not only has there been a large turnout (174 players signed up for the event) but some of the best poker players from the Asian region have shown up to play including Bryan Huang from Singapore. The two –time Asian Poker Tour (APT) runner-up, Steve Yea, also arrived. Neither of these players, however, made it to the final table of ten players on Day 3 of the tournament and so are out of the running for the top prize of HKD$284,000. Korean player, Yoo Il Woong, will lead the pack today in the final event with 434,000 chips in this stack. Watch this space to find out the final result.

The Million Dollar Hand returns to PartyPoker on October 5th! The promotion is back and starts on Monday 5 until 30th October. The promotion offers the chance to win a cool $1 million or even more! Real money players will get a playing card for every 15 “PartyPoints” they manage to earn and each time they built a five-card hand they’ll receive a prize. There’s a guaranteed cash prize if the hand features a pair or better – for a royal flush you’ll get $1 million!

A PartyPoker spokesman said: “The Million Dollar Hand makes a welcome return and the cards are in the air on October 5th. A royal flush hasn’t hit on a previous running yet but we have certainly scared our insurers with a number of straight flush payouts. This time we might not be so lucky!”

There is no limit on the number of royal flushes that can be hit and the promotion starts with players getting their first card for free. This card will be available in a player’s PartyAccount on the 5th October. Points are not removed from player accounts following the promotion – they all count towards Palladium Lounge targets.

Unless you’ve had your head stuck in the sand for the past couple of years, you’ll probably know that there are currently two Singapore casinos under construction which will be the first in the country following the lifting of the 40 year long ban against casinos. Licences were awarded to The Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World at Sentosa. The S$6.59 billion resort-casino project on Sentosa Island in Singapore is apparently progressing rapidly and is on schedule to open in early 2010. The project includes a casino, four hotels and a Universal Studios theme park. The Marina Bay Sands project, in central Singapore, is also expected to open in the first quarter of 2010 after experiencing some delays. The three 55-story hotel towers just reached the top floor. The two casino projects are an attempt to increase tourism and stimulate the economy, however, there is some speculation about whether high rollers will be deterred by Singapore’s family oriented atmosphere.
